Taxpayer pain as MPs seek Sh364bn budget top-up

Taxpayers will face an additional burden of Sh363.9 billion after Parliament approved a proposal for extra funding to cover shortfalls in civil servants' emoluments. BAC chairman Samuel Atandi defended the request, citing shortfalls in the education, health, and security sectors. The proposal aims to increase the education budget by 6.23% and the health budget by 19.38% compared to the budget approved last June.
