Drama in Mbour: A Dispute Over a Can, Conflict Between the 'Aawo' and the 'Niaareel'

A violent altercation erupted between F.S. Sow, the first wife of an emigrant, and her co-wife M. Dioum in Mbour over a request for a can of drink. M. Dioum refused to provide the can, which F.S. Sow interpreted as a deliberate humiliation. The dispute escalated, with F.S. Sow striking M. Dioum with a pestle and then slashing her jaw with a sharp object. M.
