DRC: Tshisekedi orders an audit on copper and cobalt exports

President Félix Tshisekedi has initiated an investigation into the revenues generated from copper and cobalt exports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Despite being a leading global supplier, the country faces significant revenue losses due to inadequate oversight and opaque practices. The audit aims to maximize profits from record exports of these resources, with approximately 3.4 million metric tons of copper exported in 2025.
