DSS, Forest Guards rescue two abducted children in Kwara, kill two suspected kidnappers

A joint team of the Department of State Services (DSS) and forest guards rescued two abducted children in Kwara State, Nigeria, on July 16, 2026. The operation freed 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and her five-year-old brother Ibrahim from a forest between Oba Isin/Owa Onire in Isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas. Two suspected kidnappers were killed, and several others fled with injuries. Security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel gun, magazines, and other items.
