Police smash cultists' initiation process in Ogun, arrest 30 suspects

On June 16, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command smashed a cultist initiation procession in Isara-Remo, arresting 30 male suspects. The operation, carried out by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) alongside local detectives, recovered four vehicles, a jack knife, a drum, a sekere, and alcohol bottles. The suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives and reiterated zero tolerance for cultism.
