Power supply improves within two weeks, Minister insists

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, stated that electricity supply in Nigeria has improved due to increased gas supply to power plants. From March 28 to April 10, 2026, generation output rose from about 3,951 megawatts to over 4,300 megawatts. Adelabu also announced the inauguration of a Gas-to-Power Monitoring Committee to enhance coordination between gas producers and power generation companies.
