Kenya Railways Adds Special Train Services Amid Aviation Disruptions

Kenya Railways announced special train services for travelers between Nairobi and Mombasa on August 31 and September 1, 2026, due to disruptions in the aviation sector linked to a standoff with the Kenya Aviation Workers Union. A train will depart from Mombasa at 8:40 PM on August 31, followed by two additional departures on September 1 at 9:40 AM from Nairobi and 4:30 PM from Mombasa. These services aim to ease congestion and provide a reliable alternative for the thousands of travelers stranded at airports nationwide.
