Atiku denounced Lawal's attempt to associate an entire ethnic group with criminality, highlighting the irony that Lawal served under Fulani President Buhari while now stigmatizing Fulanis. He also noted that Lawal boasted about being courted by five governors to rejoin the APC on the same day he attacked Atiku.
