Police launch crackdown on unregistered vehicles, fake number plates in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has launched a statewide enforcement campaign against unregistered vehicles and the use of concealed or fake number plates, deploying mobile courts to ensure swift prosecution of offenders. The initiative, which started on Wednesday, follows a directive from Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and aims to enhance road safety and strengthen security across the state. Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, warned that vehicles in violation would be impounded and owners prosecuted before mobile courts. The operation targets vehicles without proper registration, those with covered or obscured plates, and those displaying unauthorized or fictitious numbers.
