Man Utd defeat to Como ‘unacceptable’, says Carrick

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick said his team had “lost their way” after a 4-1 defeat to Como extended its winless run to seven games. Appointed permanently five months ago, Carrick is under pressure ahead of Sunday’s home match against Bournemouth. United has made its worst start in the Premier League era, been knocked out of the League Cup by Brighton and lost two of its first three Champions League matches. Carrick called the Como defeat “unacceptable” and said he was working to restore a team that represents its supporters and makes them proud.
