Haut-Uele: Insecurity Blocks Harvests and Raises Food Prices

In Dungu and other territories of Haut-Uele, insecurity caused by nomadic Mbororo herders is hindering the local economy. Farmers struggle to transport their harvests to markets, leading to rising food prices. For instance, the price of a basin of cassava flour has increased from 12,000 to 25,000 Congolese francs. This situation complicates the sale of harvests and reduces exchanges between villages and consumption centers.
