East African Community Ministers adopt measures to boost trade and Industrialization in the region

The 48th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment (SCTIFI) was held in Arusha, Tanzania, bringing together ministers from EAC Partner States. EAC Secretary General Stephen Mbundi called for a stronger internal market and lower business costs amid geopolitical tensions. The Council adopted customs and trade facilitation reforms, including time release studies, and a framework to eliminate non-tariff barriers with potential sanctions.
