Water, health, security, traffic: Final adjustments before the Grand Magal of Touba

Weeks before the Grand Magal of Touba 2026, authorities say 95% of preparations are complete, according to Diourbel Governor Ibrahima Fall. Interior Minister Mouhamadou Makhtar Cissé chaired a national meeting in Dakar with the spokesman of the general caliph of the Mourides. Discussions focused on health, drinking water, sanitation, electricity, hygiene, and food safety checks. A major security deployment by the national police and gendarmerie will be in place, along with traffic regulation measures, especially for motorcycles, to welcome millions of pilgrims.
