Ebola in DRC: over 700 deaths recorded in two months

From May 15 to July 15, 2026, the 17th Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has caused over 700 deaths and spread across five provinces. The Congolese government has allocated US$50 million, with partners such as WHO, Africa CDC, and MSF supporting the response. Three hundred patients have been declared cured, but a health worker strike and insecurity in some areas are compromising care.
