Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams are strengthening contact tracing in Ebola-affected areas in DRC, announced the organization on Thursday, June 11 in Kinshasa. The response is coordinated by the Ministry of Health through the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), with support from WHO. Ituri province is the epicenter, concentrating the majority of cases. This is the 17th Ebola outbreak in DRC, of the Bundibugyo strain, officially declared on May 17, 2026, with the first case identified on April 24, 2026.
