Edo: Green Park School, police debunk alleged kidnapping of students

The Edo State Police Command and the management of Green Park Academy in Benin City have denied allegations that students were kidnapped during the WASSCE examination on June 2, 2026. In separate statements, the school described the rumors as false and malicious, stating that all candidates completed the exam peacefully and arrived home safely. Police attributed the false narrative to a woman known as 'Azawoman' and have launched an investigation to track down the perpetrator. Authorities urge the public to disregard the unverified claims and refrain from sharing fake news.
