Effurun Shooting: Era of impunity in Police Force over — IGP

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Rilwan Disu declared that the era of impunity within the Nigeria Police Force is over, stating that officers involved in unprofessional conduct will no longer be protected. He emphasized that any officer found guilty of misuse of firearms or unlawful killing will face dismissal and prosecution. Additionally, the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State announced the establishment of a Violent Crime Response Unit to enhance the fight against violent crime in the state.
