Space Program: Senegal Ready to Share Its Experience with Ivory Coast

Professor Gayane Faye, coordinator of SENSAT, presented the lessons learned from Senegal's space program launched in 2019, including the deployment of GAINDESAT-1A in August 2024, during the Africa Space Expo in Abidjan. He expressed Senegal's willingness to share its experience with Ivory Coast, which has been developing its own space ecosystem since 2025. The presentation covered the satellite's objectives, infrastructure development, and future steps such as training, establishing ground stations, and testing remote data collection systems.
