Emefiele: Police intelligence exposed $6.23m withdrawal from CBN - EFCC witness tells court

A witness from the EFCC, Mr. Eloho Okpoziakpo, testified in court that police investigations revealed an alleged withdrawal of $6.23 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intended for payments to foreign observers during the 2023 general elections. He confirmed that signatures of late President Muhammadu Buhari and former Secretary to the Government, Boss Mustapha, were forged to facilitate this withdrawal. The trial of Godwin Emefiele for breach of trust and other charges has been adjourned to July 2 and 3, 2026.
