Energy, commerce, agriculture... Ousmane Sonko wants to reduce a subsidy envelope of 833.5 billion FCFA

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko reviewed the issue of subsidies in Senegal, which average 833.5 billion FCFA annually. He noted that nearly half of these subsidies might benefit non-targeted users. Sonko proposed the establishment of a committee to reform these subsidies and requested a report within ten days. The IMF has also recommended reducing certain subsidies, particularly in the energy sector.
