ENS Competition 2026: Between Ambition and Challenge for National Education, 24,185 Candidates for Only 3,225 Positions

On May 3, 2026, the École Normale Supérieure in Abidjan launched the written exams for the entrance competition, attracting 24,185 candidates for only 3,225 positions, resulting in an admission rate of 13%. The educator competition is particularly competitive, with 13,000 applicants for 150 spots. The Minister of Higher Education assured the transparency of the process and announced that over 2,300 teachers will be available by July to strengthen the education system.
