The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a crackdown on oil marketing companies accused of creating an artificial fuel shortage and raising prices. In a directive, EPRA revealed that some companies were deliberately hoarding petroleum products and restricting supply to independent retailers. Companies found guilty of these practices risk fines of at least Ksh1 million and prison sentences of up to five years.
