Equity Bank, customer clash over supermarket embarrassment claims

Equity Bank (Kenya) and one of its customers in Nairobi are in a legal dispute before the High Court in Milimani over a botched money transfer. The customer, an advocate, instructed the bank to transfer funds from his client account to his personal account, but the bank failed to complete the credit, leading to declined debit card transactions and embarrassment at a supermarket. The plaintiffs are seeking damages for reputational harm and constitutional violations.
