Escalation of fighting between AFC/M23 and Wazalendo in Masisi, Walikale, and Kalehe

Hundreds of homes were set on fire in Lukweti, Masisi territory, attributed to the AFC/M23 rebels. Fighting began on April 8 with simultaneous attacks against a coalition of local groups, causing panic and displacing residents. Hostilities have spread to the villages of Batayo and Kimole in South Kivu, as well as Bindo-Bindo in North Kivu.
