Ex-senatorial candidate jailed 10 years for selling petrol to Boko Haram

Babagana Habeeb, a former senatorial candidate from Borno State, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Abuja Federal High Court for selling petrol to Boko Haram terrorists. During his trial, he admitted to selling fuel but claimed that his attendants were responsible for the sales. Judge Peter Lifu noted that there was no evidence that Habeeb was a member of Boko Haram and ordered that his sentence start from the date of his arrest.
