AFD deploys more than 700 million euros in DRC and finances a new building for INRB

The Director General of AFD, Christophe Lecourtier, began his mission in the DRC on July 14, 2026, with a visit to INRB, announcing the construction of a new administrative building in Kinshasa. AFD's overall portfolio in the DRC now exceeds 700 million euros spread across 35 active projects, focusing on medical training and epidemic response. Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe highlighted the training of Congolese scientists in France, while Lecourtier described the DRC as a "health sentinel" for Europe and the world.
