Families forced into displacement by famine in Sudan

Marasi Alfadil and her children fled el-Fasher in North Darfur to Omdurman, where they live in a half-finished building without proper services or adequate food. Their escape was prompted by the takeover of the city by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after an 18-month siege, which resulted in thousands of deaths. The situation in el-Fasher remains critical, with ongoing food shortages and violence, leading to a famine crisis declared by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification.
