FARDC announces it shot down a drone in the Fizi Highlands

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) shot down a drone flying over several front lines in the Fizi Highlands, highlighting the security instability in South Kivu province. This drone, identified as belonging to the Rwandan army, was intercepted while conducting a reconnaissance mission. The administrator of the Fizi territory also reported civilian casualties from a previous drone attack, with a toll of 40 dead.
