Woman charged over fatal Wimbledon school crash

Claire Freemantle, the driver of a Land Rover, has been charged with causing the deaths of two eight-year-old girls, Selena Lau and Nuria Sajjad, in a crash at The Study Prep school in Wimbledon in July 2023. The victims' parents expressed their ongoing pain and pursuit of truth after challenging the initial decision not to charge Freemantle. Following a reopening of the investigation by the Metropolitan Police, Freemantle was re-arrested in January 2025 and now faces charges of dangerous driving causing death and serious injury.
