FG, Ethiopia sign prisoner transfer agreement for jailed Nigerians

The Nigerian government signed a prisoner transfer agreement with Ethiopia, paving the way for the repatriation of over 100 Nigerians currently serving prison sentences in Ethiopia. The agreement was signed in Addis Ababa by Nigeria's Attorney General, Lateef Fagbemi, and Ethiopia's Minister of Justice, Hanna Arayaselassie. Four Nigerian prisoners died during the negotiations. Foreign Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu stated that the agreement allows prisoners to serve the remainder of their sentences in their home country, promoting rehabilitation and reintegration.
