The Federal Government of Nigeria has relocated the operational headquarters of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall from Abuja to Kano. Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal announced the decision on Wednesday, stating it aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. The move aims to improve efficiency in implementing the Great Green Wall Programme across 11 northern Nigerian states affected by desertification. The agency has already established over 100 shelterbelts, 159 solar and wind-powered boreholes, and engaged 600 youth forest guards.
