Djahid Zefizef, the former president of the Algerian Football Federation, has been placed in custody after being charged with corruption and financial fraud. The investigation has also led to the detention of six others, including Charaf-Eddine Amara and Kheireddine Zetchi, due to financial irregularities within the federation. Zefizef faces charges of misappropriation of public funds and abuse of office related to a 5 billion DZD deficit and the awarding of irregular contracts during his presidency.
