‘Uncle Sam and Osoba built Daily Times; I’m just a custodian’ — Anosike

Fidelis Anosike, chairman of Folio Media Group, owner of Daily Times of Nigeria, described himself as custodian of a newspaper built by its founders and former leaders. At the Daily Times Heroes Awards in Lagos, he credited Uncle Sam, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Yemi Ogunbiyi and Chief Onyema Ugochukwu with shaping the paper and contributing to nation-building. Anosike noted that former contributors went on to strengthen other media organisations, including Sam Amuka’s contribution to Vanguard. He said Daily Times helped shape Nigeria’s national identity.
