Former Kilgoris MP and Minister Gideon Konchellah Dies After Cardiac Attack

Gideon Sitelu Konchellah, former minister and MP for Kilgoris, died on June 13, 2026, from a cardiac arrest. He served as Kilgoris MP from 2003 to 2022 under various parties including PNU, URP, and Jubilee Party. He served as Minister for Immigration and Registration of Persons under President Mwai Kibaki (2006-2007) and oversaw the Refugee Act of 2006. Current MP Julius Sunkuli confirmed his death and paid tribute.
