The derailment of the Warri-Itakpe train on June 8, 2026 near Agbor, Delta State, killed four people – two women, one man and an infant – and left 24 seriously injured. The train carried 482 people: 442 passengers and 40 crew, security and service personnel. Rescue operations led by NEMA, FRSC and the Nigerian police concluded at 6:30 p.m. The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has opened an inquiry, and the House of Representatives is demanding compensation for victims.
