France: a father dies trying to save his sons from drowning

A 43-year-old Belgian national died on July 7 in Wimereux (Pas-de-Calais) after diving to rescue his two sons who were swept away by difficulties in the water. The children were rescued unharmed, but the father was found in cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite rapid intervention by lifeguards, firefighters, and medical staff, he could not be revived. The accident occurred outside the supervised swimming area, prompting authorities to remind of the risks of swimming in undesignated zones.
