Only eight teams have won the FIFA World Cup without losing a single match: Uruguay in 1930, Italy in 1934 and 1938, Brazil in 1958, 1962, 1970 and 2002, and West Germany in 1990. Italy was the first nation to win back-to-back titles unbeaten. Brazil's 1970 team, featuring Pelé, Jairzinho, and Carlos Alberto Torres, won all six matches. Brazil's 2002 team won all seven matches with Ronaldo Nazário scoring eight goals.
