Funeral held for Al Jazeera’s Wishah killed in Israeli strike in Gaza

Mourners gathered in Deir el-Balah for the funeral of Mohammed Wishah, an Al Jazeera journalist killed in an Israeli strike. Funeral prayers were held at the Grand Mosque before burial in accordance with his wishes. Ismail al-Thawabta, director of Gaza’s Government Media Office, stated that Wishah's assassination is part of a deliberate policy targeting Palestinian journalists, with 262 journalists killed since the war began in October 2023.
