Shooting Outside Israeli Consulate in Istanbul: One Dead, Two Injured Among Assailants

Three armed men opened fire on April 7, 2026, outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, resulting in one assailant's death and serious injuries to the other two. Law enforcement neutralized the assailants after a six-minute shootout. The individuals, who came from Izmit, were heavily armed and wore camouflage outfits. No Israeli diplomats were present at the site, as the consulate has been closed since October 2023 for security reasons.
