CAN 2027: An Unprecedented Period Selected, Breaking with Recent Editions

The African Football Confederation has decided that the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2027, co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, will take place between June and July. This choice marks a break from the last three editions, which were scheduled in winter. The decision is motivated by favorable climatic conditions in East Africa during the summer. However, logistical challenges remain, including delays in infrastructure work in Kenya and Uganda.
