The governor of the Bank of Central African States, Yvon Sana Bangui, is working to restart the review of regional insurance for Cemac, which has been suspended since December 2025. Following a meeting in Washington with the IMF's Africa department director, Zeine Zeidane, a validation of this review could occur in December 2026. The BEAC delegation discussed the necessary conditions for the resumption of IMF-supported programs in the region.
