U.S.: Trump critic Ilhan Omar could lose her American citizenship, according to the WSJ

According to the Wall Street Journal, a federal investigation into Ilhan Omar is seeking evidence that could allow the government to revoke her U.S. citizenship and deport her, although no denaturalization proceeding has been officially confirmed. Department of Homeland Security agents searched her Washington home on October 12 as part of a criminal investigation into her immigration history. Omar, who arrived from Somalia as a refugee in 1995 and became a naturalized citizen in 2000, rejects the immigration fraud accusations. The government would have to bring the case before a federal court and prove that she obtained citizenship through a deliberate false statement or by concealing a material fact.
