‘Immigrants from shithouse country, not welcome’: Trump blasts Norway over Nobel Peace Prize

At a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, Donald Trump called Norway a “shithouse country” and said he did not want Norwegian immigrants in the United States because he had not won the Nobel Peace Prize. This year’s prize went to South African judge and former UN human rights chief Navi Pillay, a choice Trump called “a disgraceful and embarrassing decision.” Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide reiterated that the Nobel Committee is independent. There was no official indication of a new US policy on Norwegian immigrants.
