Rice farming: Côte d’Ivoire presents 13 projects to 24 Italian companies

On October 18, 2026, Côte d’Ivoire presented 24 Italian companies with a portfolio of 13 investment projects for its rice sector. The projects are estimated to require 731.6 billion CFA francs, including 355 billion for developing 35,000 hectares of irrigated land at Kossou and Buyo. Other areas include agricultural mechanization, seed production, rehabilitation of rice-growing areas, storage and processing. Minister Delegate Bernard Kini Comoé said the government hopes to secure concrete investments, boost domestic production and reduce rice imports.
