Troops neutralise bandits, dismantle enclaves in Sokoto

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised several bandits and destroyed their hideouts in the highlands bordering Zamfara State, around Dangulbi and Kurawa villages in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The operation, carried out on June 4 in collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilantes, involved a fierce gun battle that killed several bandits, including suspected kingpins, and recovered weapons and motorcycles. The operation dismantled key bandit enclaves and disrupted their activities, according to a security source. Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu on Security, retired Colonel Ahmad Usman, commended the Nigerian Army's sustained efforts against banditry.
