Ghana has ended negotiations on a bilateral health agreement with the United States due to disagreements over access to personal data of its citizens. Ghanaian authorities, led by President John Dramani Mahama, found the American clauses requiring access to sensitive health data unacceptable. The discussions, which began in November, were focused on a $109 million funding to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.
