Budget Governance: Benin Rises to Global Heights of Transparency

According to the 2025 Open Budget Survey by the International Budget Partnership (IBP), Benin scores an impressive 52/100 in public participation, ranking 2nd globally behind Brazil, 1st in Africa and the Francophone world. In budget transparency, it scores 77/100, ahead of all Francophone nations, and in budget oversight it advances to 72/100 (11th globally). These achievements stem from structural reforms, including digitization of tax and customs administrations.
