DRC: Nicolas Kazadi claims mandatory tax declaration as his most structuring reform

Nicolas Kazadi, former Minister of Finance, stated that the introduction of personal income tax and mandatory tax declaration is his greatest contribution to changing mindsets in the DRC. He emphasized that the Sama Lukonde government is the first to implement this declaration, which was promulgated in November-December 2023, although he acknowledged delays in its implementation. Kazadi also lamented that this reform, crucial for the fight against corruption, is largely ignored in public debate.
