Football on ruins: Gaza’s orphans find refuge on the pitch

Sixteen-year-old Mohammed Eyad Azzam is the sole survivor of an Israeli airstrike that killed his family in Jabalia, northern Gaza. After being rescued by his grandmother from the rubble, he now lives in the Shati refugee camp, taking care of her. Despite the challenges, he finds solace in football, a sport he played before the war with the now-defunct Khadamat Jabalia club.
