Gridlock grief: Over 2 400 vehicles recorded per hour on N1 to Gauteng

More than 2,400 vehicles per hour were recorded on the N1 heading to Gauteng, causing significant congestion. Some motorists were seen driving on the wrong side of the road near toll plazas due to the traffic jam. Traffic officers intervened to curb reckless driving at the toll gates.
